Research Scientist at the Health Division- Neurotechnology Area at TECNALIA
Andrea Sarasola Sanz is a research scientist currently working at the Neurotechnology Area of Tecnalia, while finishing her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Tuebingen, Germany. She holds two Master of Science degrees, one in Industrial Engineering from the Politecnica de Madrid, Spain and another one in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, USA and the Politecnico di Milano, Italy. In the last 6 years, she has been working on top European and international projects developing high-tech solutions for motor rehabilitation, such as brain-computer interfaces and neuromodulation systems.
Throughout her career, she has received several scholarships such as the La Caixa-DAAD for a PhD program in Germany and the EU-US Atlantis scholarship for a double Master degree in the USA and Italy. She has also been awarded with the Vodovnik Prize at the International Funcional Electrical Stimulation Conference and the Excellence Award by the Comunidad de Madrid.
She aims at expanding the Innovation Forum throughout Euskadi to build a dense network of companies, investors, universities and start-ups working together to boost the great potential of the Basque Health Science and Industry, by connecting talented people, ideas and resources and bringing them to an international level.
