Dr Lara Diaz de Grenu

Lara is a research scientist and a project manager in the Neurotechnology unit of Tecnalia where she has participated and led several Brain Machine Interface (BMI) projects for neurorehabilitation in stroke patients or for improvement of neurodegenerative diseases. She completed her PhD at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Cambridge working with Professor Peter Nestor on early detection of dementia through magnetic resonance image processing. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain.
She has received several scholarships including the “Vulcanus in Japan” from the European Commission thanks to which she spent a year working at the Japanese company Dai Nippon Printing in Tokyo or the “Pinsent-Darwin scholarship” from the University of Cambridge. She holds several publications in journals such as Brain or Neuroimage.
Since January 2018 she is the President of the Innovation Forum Euskadi branch where she aims at bringing the thriving Basque Health ecosystem, which has i) a robust traditional industry open to diversification, ii) a powerful regional Healthcare system and iii) a local government that strongly supports the field of health and technology, together with the global network of Innovation Forum in order to boost even further the biotech sector.
